The overall objective of the ATC initiative is to increase the availability of affordable food products in Nigeria by improving the quality, productivity, and efficiency of local Agro-allied enterprises through the creation of a varied and highly skilled workforce that will contribute to the creation of a sustainable jobs and incomes in rural Nigeria, as well as develop an innovation platform to activate dialogue between relevant stakeholders of specific agricultural value chains in other to increase the overall cooperation within the industry and promote a combined and aligned process with the Nigerian agricultural and micro-finance sectors.
Specific Objectives
The specific objectives of the ATC initiative include:
- To establish and operate the (ATC) initiative as a knowledge hub for demand-driven human capital development, which addresses critical knowledge gaps within the agricultural sector in West Africa.
- To provide training, development, research, and innovation within the Nigerian agricultural sector, as well as build the capacity of the Founding Promoters.
- To facilitate dialogue amongst value-chain actors in other to resolve the various challenges facing the industry through a multi-stakeholder platform that explores the relationship among the diverse stakeholders within the system, as well as encourages interaction with other institutions such as policymakers, agricultural financing institutions, for knowledge generation and application.
- To implement an initiative that can sustainably develop a highly skilled workforce that better addresses the challenges of managing modern agribusinesses, which will increase levels of efficiency and pass these efficiency gains on to Nigerian consumers.
- To collaborate with local, regional, and global institutions to facilitate the delivery of training, research, and innovation for agriculture.
